Admissions information
King’s Lynn Academy does not select pupils for admission and will consider all applications for places.
We follow the admissions criteria of the Eastern Multi-Academy Trust. A copy of the Trust’s admissions policy can be found on the Trust’s policies page.
Year 7 (11+) Entry
The majority of our students join us after the end of year six, at the culmination of their primary school education, joining us at the start of year seven from a variety of primary/junior schools in King’s Lynn or the nearby villages – Greenpark Academy, St. German’s Primary School, Reffley Primary School, Howard Junior School, Middleton C of E Primary School and West Winch Primary School. An invitation is extended to the parents of these pupils to meet the principal and academy staff during the autumn term at the new parents’ evening and daytime tours are available during a week in mid-September. Prospective pupils and parents from schools outside of these traditional partner ones are very welcome to visit the academy.
In the summer term arrangements will be made for children to spend some time in the academy to help to prepare them for the transfer. This will be followed by an evening towards the end of term when parents can meet form tutors and discuss final arrangements. A detailed explanation of all practical matters such as lunch arrangements, times and holidays, uniform, etc. is given in a booklet to parents.
Applications for places at the academy should be made in accordance with Norfolk County Council’s admissions arrangements, referred to as the ‘transfer to secondary school admission round’. Further information and application forms can be downloaded from their transfer to secondary school page.
