Academy uniform

The academy uniform is formal and is clearly defined and we expect all students to wear it correctly with pride. It is expected that all students will wear the uniform unless there is a valid medical or cultural reason why a student cannot wear a particular item or why they have to wear an additional garment. Any student refusing to wear the correct uniform will be withdrawn from lessons until the matter is rectified.

Fashions change frequently and not all aspects of dress or hair style which are unacceptable can be listed here. If you are in any doubt, please consult your Head of House before making a purchase or having your hair cut.

Hair

Hair styles should be appropriate. ‘Extreme’ hair styles or fashions will be unacceptable. The following treatments, styles and designs are unacceptable: artificial colours/bleached or shaved designs (including eyebrows). Long hair should be tied back.

At King’s Lynn Academy, we believe that academy holidays provide ample opportunity for ‘experimenting’ with hair colours and styles. Please ensure extreme styles and colours are grown out before returning to the academy.

Jewellery

In the interests of security and safety, the general wearing of jewellery is not allowed. However, one small, plain stud in each ear are permitted. No other visible body piercing is acceptable.
