Commemorating Remembrance Day
Last week all year groups had an assembly commemorating Remembrance Day. Please click on the link for the powerpoint of the assembly delivered by Mr Burton-White Remember Them assembly
On Sunday 11th November 2018 eight of our students took part in the memorial service at Tower Gardens to mark the centenary of the armistice. The memorial was very busy with lots of people and groups represented, including veterans, charities, youth groups and the three high schools, all of whom laid a wreath. Our wreath was laid by head boy, Joshua Barrett and head girl, Jessica Fowl. Once the two minutes silence had been observed and all the wreaths laid, we processed to Lynn Minster. At the Minster we attended the church service, dedicated to remembering those lost during the Great War with hymns and prayers. The Bishop of Lynn addressed the congregation with a message of peace and the importance of remembering the events of the First World War.
Mrs Hase and Mrs Prevett were proud of the conduct of our students who behaved perfectly, acting in the respectful manner that was appropriate for this occasion. It was an honour to accompany them. The students who attended were Joshua Barrett, Jessica Fowl, Padraig Denmark, Hollie Castle, Tamzin Toromba, Eve McDowell, Benjamin Barrett and Corey Cawston.
